Help me I'm stuck / I have a question

Dear Builders,

If you have any question please let us know. We’re here to HELP! 🙂

Hi —

I’m in the process of building out the Hummer body and the Infinity chassis.   One file seems to be missing from the Infinity set for the middle mounting system top most part (looks like an elongated T). See picture from the instructions below.

The Hummer body came out great (still filling in gaps and finishing the paint job). One tip to other trying the hummer body, reinforce the joints by using the welding technique (melt the joints together using a soldering iron from the inside.  The joint isn’t visible from the outside and it greatly strengthens the body against the inevitable hits it will take.

Hello,

Thank you for pointing this out — the design has been updated, so the picture needs to be changed as well.

I’ve attached a picture for reference.

You can see the current design in the video at 18:25:

If possible, could you please share a picture of the welding and the body? We’d love to see them.

Thank you!

best regards

Balázs

Thanks. I was wondering where that piece went.  Mystery solved.  Still waiting on some hardware to arrive so have not completed the Infinity build yet.

Here is a shot of the body in progress – am still working at smoothing the gaps.  I was also fitting a potential roof rack as I see this as a civilian version.  The photo from underneath shows the “welds” along all of the joint lines.  Wherever there was a 90 angle I used a length of filament to weld the two pieces together.  Where flat, like on the doors & snorkel, I used the traditional welding technique as shown by many on YT doing larger pieces like helmets and costumes.

Thank you for the pictures!

Using welding really makes a difference — the body looks much stronger now.

Hello I noticed some errors on the model. On the 01_FRAME_REAR on the left hole the mesh overlaps so the hole is closed and 07_REAR_AXLE_HOUSING_LOWER the left bottom nut hole is misaligned. On a side note: I just finished making a differential for it and im currently printing it. I just took the internals from the one i made for destiny and remade the housing (took like 8 hours to remake)

Hello Sally,

thank you for mentioning the errors. By the 01_FRAME_REAR i didn’t found it. I opened the file in blender.

I’ve uploaded STL files for an updated version of the rear axle. This version includes additional bearings to improve alignment on both sides.

Best regards,

Balázs

Hello antibala,

I print out parts 06_AXLE_GEARBOX and 06_GEAR_03_Z28

I tried to put it together like the guide in video but it doesn’t fit at all.

The axle is square but the hole on the gear is rectangle.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Yeah, I have the same issue now.

Hello Guys,

Thanks for mentioning this issue. I forgot to update the gear.

We have just overwritten the file. Please download infinity again to have this correct file of the gear.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,

Balázs

Hello Aleksei,

This is it:

021_BODY_FRONT_HOLDER_ADJUSTER_MAGNET_TOP

It was just shortened because of an update.

Best regards,

Balázs
